MSI GE620 and GR620 Intel Core i7 Gaming Laptops Released

MSI rolled out the GE620 and GR620-the latest additions to its G Series of gaming notebook computers, featuring Intel's powerful second generation Core i7 quad core processor. The GE620 also packs the DirectX 11-supporting nVidia GeForce GT 540M discrete graphics card and reproduces the ultimate in multimedia sound performance, using THX TruStudio Pro smart wrap around sound and MSI Cinema Pro technology.

Continuing its tradition of holding G Series gaming laptops to the highest standards, MSI unveiled its new generation GE620 and GR620 NBs with Intel's second generation Corei7 quad core processor and Intel's latest generation Turbo Boost 2.0 which significantly boosts performance in each core. The GE620 also packs the DirectX 11-supporting nVidia GeForce GT 540M discrete graphics card to enhance game resolution, so that you can see details of objects off in the distance, such as lines on building walls, increasing game realism.

Eric Kuo, associate vice president for global sales, MSI Notebook, notes that the glowing white characters "MSI" in the center of the cover of these machines set off their brush metal finish, underscoring their stylish high tech looks and putting them in a class all their own. What's more, new generation GE620 and GR620 feature cinema-grade THX TruStudio Pro smart wrap around sound, so regardless of the kind of music you play, they reproduce it faithfully.

Brilliant performance
Intel Core i7 quad core processor: MSI GE620 and GR620 feature Intel's powerful Core second generation processor and new generation Turbo Boost 2.0 technology which throttles up the computing capabilities of all cores. Quick Sync Video technology enhances multimedia file computing performance during conversion, synchronization, and compilation.

nVidia GeForce GT 540M discrete graphics card: The MSI GE620 sports the new generation high end nVidia GeForce GT 540M discrete graphics card (w/ 1GB GDDR5 display memory) which supports DirectX 11 to enhance game resolution. Now-visible lines in far-off buildings make games more realistic and you can see individuals off in the distance or hidden in dark corners in great detail. You can make out eyes, facial features, and clothing, making it easier to distinguish friend from foe and target in on bad guys off in the distance, greatly enhancing game realism.

GPU Boost: The GE620 also supports MSI's GPU Boost technology which automatically switches over to discrete graphics card mode to kick graphics processing up a notch or two. When performing general word processing tasks or surfing the Internet, it automatically cuts to the power-sipping integrated graphics chip mode, striking the ideal balance between performance and battery life.

Top-end HD hardware: MSI GE620 and GR620 NBs are equipped with wide cinema-class 16:9 ratio LED displays. Not only are colors rich and crisp, you don't have those pesky black bars at the top and bottom or your screen when viewing HD films. Images are true-to-life and the HD720p webcam allows you to enjoy fast, smooth, and bright high fidelity web calls with friends and family. If you want something bigger than a high definition computer screen to view films, the GE620 and GR620 also come with HDMI ports, so any type of high-fidelity, high-definition video can be played on your NB, but viewed via a cable on a large LCD TV screen.

i-Charger: The GE620 and GR620 laptops also come with MSI's i-Charger technology to pump more power through the USB slots, so you can recharge devices up to three times faster. Now, while others sit around waiting for their mobile devices to recharge, you can be using yours.

Latest USB 3.0 ports: The GE620 and GR620 pack new generation USB3.0 with transfer speeds of 4.8Gbps-10 times faster than USB2.0, and 80% higher power transmission, providing vastly higher data transfer rates and charging speeds for external hard drives, flash drives, and other handheld electronic devices.

Idle hardware power shut off shortcuts: Located above the keyboard are six shortcuts. With one click of the mouse, you can eject a DVD, turn off the screen, or turn on the S-Bar, Turbo Battery+, Cinema Pro, or power supply, so if you're going to be away from your computer for a few minutes, you can instantly turn off the display, so as to not waste battery power.

Exclusive applications
Easy Face biometric software: The GE620 and GR620 sport MSI's own facial recognition software which works in concert with the high definition webcam to protect data biometrically. Easy Face remembers passwords for MSN accounts as well as login passwords for websites and systems, integrating all passwords for your personal accounts under one lock and key-your unique facial features. It remembers your passwords, so you don't have to.

Easy Viewer photo manager: The new generation GE620 and GR620 come with MSI's Easy Viewer photo management software to enlarge, shrink, or rotate pictures. Sharing photos with friends and family was never easier or more fun.

S-Bar: MSI GE620 and GR620 NBs not only offer the most powerful hardware available, both their hardware and software were designed with the user in mind. MSI's S-Bar toolbar, located at the top of the screen, consists of shortcuts for major OS programs and hardware as well as MSI's own applications. It allows you to control all system functions, auxiliary programs and applications as well as an array of programs, including software to save power and boost performance as well as MSI's multimedia software, the webcam, projector, wireless, Bluetooth, volume control, screen brightness, and standby mode.
